Overview

We are a thriving, private facial and body plastic surgery center seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse (RNFA preferred) to join our growing team. Our newest addition is a Double Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon specializing in body procedures, and we’re looking for a dynamic OR nurse who will play a key role in supporting this expansion.

Responsibilities

The OR Nurse / First Assist will work closely with our surgeon and perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical care. In addition to circulating and assisting in surgery, this position offers the opportunity to cross-train in other surgical support functions — including instrument sterilization, OR set-up, and surgical tech duties — to provide full support across our accredited ambulatory surgery center.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated RN who enjoys being hands-on in all aspects of the surgical process and values teamwork in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as circulating nurse and first assist during plastic surgery cases (primarily body procedures).
  • Maintain sterile field integrity and assist with instrument and equipment management.
  • Prepare and position patients for surgical procedures.
  • Cross-train in sterilization, set-up, and surgical tech skills to support the OR team as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing quality and safety initiatives.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care and education to patients as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Current Massachusetts RN license (required).
  • RNFA certification or willingness to obtain within first year (preferred).
  • Minimum 2 years of operating room experience, preferably in plastics, dermatology, or ambulatory surgery.
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique, instrumentation, and perioperative workflow.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and patient safety.
  • Flexible, team-oriented, and willing to cross-train in multiple roles.

Why Join Us:

  • Work alongside a Double Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon in a state-of-the-art facility.
  • Collaborative, supportive, and high-performing surgical team.
  • No nights, weekends, or holidays.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and cross-training within the surgical suite.
