- Schedule Mohs/excision for surgeons to include internal patients and referrals from PCP providers.
- Schedule surgical pre-op consults.
- Receive phone notes from providers for scheduling Mohs/ excisions procedures.
- Mail out confirmation of surgery packets at least a week in advance of surgery.
- Maintain schedule to capacity, avoiding excessive overbooking.
- Re-fill surgery appointment slots when cancellations occur.
- Receive incoming patient calls regarding Mohs (its own queue).
- Ensure that Mohs phone calls are answered before the third ring. Collect and respond to messages left on the Mohs voicemail.
- Work with referring offices to schedule Mohs surgery and ensure path report is received and scanned into patients’ medical record prior to surgery.
- Work with patients and external medical facilities for patients referred out for more complicated surgical needs.
- Assemble notes for schedule, one week in advance.
- Coordinate rescheduling of surgery cancellations.
- Oversee the wait list, move up promptly when an appointment slot opens.
- Oversee the existing appointment ticklers and make follow up to calls to patients when needed.
- Respond to provider flags in electronic medical record (EMR).
- If primary work location is onsite at the front desk, teammates are also responsible for the schedule prep, check-in and check-out responsibilities as outlined in the Medical Receptionist job description.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years related experience required.
