APDerm is looking to hire experienced Medical Assistants that are interested in a high growth opportunity.  Our Patient Care Coordinators are experienced Medical Assistants that interact with patients and their families in initiating the planned care, to include:

 

  • Provide education information to patients and their families
  • Explain treatments, procedures, medication(s) and continuing care following treatment
  • Collaborate internally with various departments to ensure appropriate scheduling, lab results and recordkeeping

Responsibilities

 

  • Answer and address incoming patient clinical calls, RX, PA
  • Type up phone notes/cases and route to providers regarding patient concerns
  • Place phone calls to the patients regarding answers to concerns
  • Call and inform patient of pathology/ lab results
  • Schedule patients for surgeries (excision, etc.)
  • Retrieve patient information from PCP or specialist’s office
  • Obtain from affiliated labs patient results on cultures, biopsies, etc.
  • Fax reports per request of outside providers
  • Maintain the PA/ RX buckets
  • Support and assist with ePath and procedure scheduling as needed
  • Check patient portal messages, route to provider accordingly
  • Ensures accurate notes of all consultations and treatments are recorded in the patients’ record
  • Communicates appropriately and tactfully with staff, consultants, patients, significant others, and community
  • Reduce conflict and increase patient satisfaction whenever possible through timely response to calls
  • Prioritizes work tasks and services and completes tasks in a timely manner
  • Complete Administrative Proficiency (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web-based applications, email, HRIS systems)
  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES WORK TO BE PERFORMED AT A CENTRAL LOCATION / EMPLOYEE MUST BE ABLE TO SUPPORT MULTIPLE OFFICES

  • Complete all assigned required training by the deadline including, but not limited the Code of Conduct, Privacy & Data Security, and OSHA.

Qualifications

  • Medical Assistant experience is required 
  • Triage experience is preferred 
  • Dermatalogy experience preferred
